I totally forgot about this space after my hectic, but sweet India trip.

I was having a heavy jet lag for over the last 2 weeks, that I kept Amma awake from 12 midnight till 4 am. That was the beginning, will keep you all updated about my சேட்டை and விஷமம்'s in the coming weeks.

Yes, after the 36 hour turmoil over the pacific, 3 flight changes, pathetic food, disturbed sleep, without a Ganga Snanam on Diwali (well, not even a Snanam for that matter), Amma and I reached Chennai safely @ 11:30 hrs IST on 09 Nov. And you know what's the best part? I am riding in the car, sitting in the front seat without a child seat! Yayayayay! Nimmadhiya irukku.

While am being flabbergasted by the number of people around me, Amma kaal mela kaal pottundu elarayum vela vaangindu iruka. So far, I have met Madras Raju Thatha, Prema Paati, Anand Mama, Nithya Mami, Ganesh Perippa, Radha Perimma, Sid Anna (ore shy coming Sid anna-ku enna paathonae), Guha Aunty, Priya Aunty, Lakshmi Chithi Paati and a lot more people than I would've seen thus far in the US.

Seri, romba nerama thoongama naan amma-va paduthindu irukaen, I will try to get some sleep and will let others too to get some, because am sure I will be very busy over the next 2 months with all the fun I am going to have here. Nalaikki, I will be with Sid Anna and will be playing with him. Naan anga poi thooli-la thoonga poraen.

What a coincidence to talk to you all today, it's been exactly one year since Amma & Appa found out about my existence. Anyways, it was me who was busy all the time asking for more attention from Amma, Paati, Thatha & Appa, in order of preference. Yes, Appa is the last one whom I ask for. Also, I had been to a lot of places over the past few weeks, and never had time to talk to you all.

Before I talk about my trips, I have to tell you about the worst thing that happened to me in my life (3 months 19 days as of now) so far, during my last Dr's visit. Dr Venkatesh was so nice at first talking about how I was doing in terms of height, weight, health 'n all that and she was playing with me quite well. Suddenly, she put me on the table and there were 3 (yes, really three in total) prickings (1 in my left thigh and 2 in my right thigh). I just screamed the hell out of me that Dr Venkatesh got really scared and Amma was just about to weep. I heard that it was my shots or something, which helps me with a lot of resistance to various infections. Whatever, I just turned red and was crying for a long time. Amma was carrying me around all thru the day and I was cranky for a couple of days. I slowly came back to my schedule and there started my outings...

There were a lot of things that I liked in all my trips, starting from Patel Indian Grocery Stores till the la(te)st Atlantic City & NYC journey. I met quite a number of people in all these trips too. When we went to the nearby temple, I met one of Appa's friend (which wasn't really exciting!). After that, Appa took me to Rajesh Uncle's house. Chitra Aunty had cooked so well that I was jollu vittufying to eat that, but then, there were usual restrictions of solid food and all that crap. So, couldn't eat such nice food this time (There were various other occasions were I missed good food! I will come to that later.)

I behaved so well in these first 2 trips, so Amma had the confidence to take me out further which resulted in many other outings. I went to Gopi Uncle's home and spent the entire evening there with Vidya Aunty & Krithi Akka. I was a little cranky that day, though. This was the next time when there was really good food and I was deprived of it, for the same old reason - No Solids! Argh, People have to answer for this! We had been to Kohls one day to buy some dresses (obviously, for me), and I was so happy looking at the colors as Amma was driving me thru' various aisles. On Tamil New Year's day, we had been to a mall and Toys "R" Us. Amma bought me lots & lots of playthings, which can sing, blink with different colors and move around. I especially like this toy so much, that I keep staring at it and laugh out loud when it moves around.

The best of all the trips I had so far was my Atlantic City & NYC trip. I was so excited when all the packing of clothes and food started on Friday afternoon. I knew something was happening, but then, I didn't quite get the name of the place we were going to. We started around 8:30 am and I was fed and diapered. After a few minutes, i started sleeping and when i woke up, I saw an airport to my left hand side. I didn't realize that it was sleeping for 2+ hours, we had a first pit stop then. I was fed again, diapered and started again. We reached Atlantic City, rested for a while and then went out for Gambling. I just loved the lights, colors of all the casinos. Next day, we drove to NYC and the weather was sooper cool that I was roaming around in my new denim skirt. I met Ranjit uncle and Smitha aunty once again, but then it took some time for me to find Ranjit Uncle's face amidst his long-grown-hair. After visiting Liberty Aunty Paati in the ferry, I slept for almost 2 hours in the stroller. Indha time paathu, all of them were walking near the Charging Bull, Wall Street and Ground Zero. After I woke up, Appa was telling me all this and I got really mad at him. He has promised to take me there once again, when I am awake.

After all this oor suthals, we visited Kannappan Chithappa Thatha and Hema Chithi Paati in the Bayside. Raju Thatha met them after 19 years or something like that, so they were talking about a lot of things. They were so happy to receive us and all of them had a good time. I couldn't spend much time with them, as I was too tired after the roaming around and I slept. Infact, I didn't Thank them even for all the wonderful dresses they had sent me after I was born. Anyways, I will do it the next time, as they have assured to visit us once.

I guess I will be taken to a few more trips, and I shall tell you more about those after I return. Here are my latest snaps - My new dresses & Positions, A few others & OOCT.

Happy First Month Birthday to me

Yes, its been a month since I stepped out of Amma. I am feeling much better now, my schedule is getting better and I don't trouble anybody at home a lot. I get weird at times, but not as bad as Amma complains to Appa. I sleep in the nights properly for 2-3 hours, sometimes I even go longer. But in the mornings, I hardly sleep for a long time and this worries Amma so much. I don't know why, though. Even my Dr said that she wouldn't worry much about it, as a new born babies' sleep could be anywhere between 8-18 hours a day.

Speaking about the Dr. and our visits, we went and met her y'day and I behave so well in her office. Maybe, I over-heard that I will be given shots during my next visit, I was scared and wanted to be a good girl so that they don't hurt me much when they do the shots. Talking about the visit, it went pretty good and I have gained a pound and 11 ounces since my last visit, which was 2 weeks back. Amma felt so contented as if she passed IAS exam. She even told Appa that every Dr visit is like an exam to her and if something is not right with me, she feels bad that she didn't take good care of me. Amma, ne en ippadi irukka?

I even had a peep at the first snow a couple of days back, and it was so beautiful. It was really cold then, so, I got wrapped with layers of dresses, a sweater, thoppi, mittens and a couple of blankets. That's a lot of things, right? Believe me, its that cold and I feel cozy only then. Also, Paati gives me a bath everyday around noon. I would just lie in the bath tub happily and Paati would pour warm water all over me. I can't explain how nice it would be in this cold weather. After my bath, I would be fully wrapped, fed and put to sleep. I do sleep quite well right after bath, but then, if its delayed a little, it ain't gonna happen.

You know what happened last weekend? Radha Perimma spoke to me and Sid Anna was calling me by my name. But I guess he thinks there are 2 y's in my name, as he calls me Mayya (with a stress on the second 'y'). I just can't wait to see Perippa, Perimma and you, Anna.

I guess I am feeling too tired now and Amma also wants me to go to my crib right away, so, I am going to call it a post. Ummmmmaaaaa....

Now, thats feeling much better. You know why? I have come home today as they felt Amma and I were doing just about fine. I felt very comfortable in the car seat and I didnt feel anything in the drive from the hospital. It was pretty cold today, so Appa had to cover me up totally with 2 towels.

Appa has set the crib quite well and I was just daring at the glaring pink. On top of it, Amma dressed me fully in pink making it a pinky-pinky-pinky day. To make me feel more comfortable in this weather, Prema paati put another sweater which Chandra Athai Paati had got from Delhi. I really felt very cosy and slept quite well.

Obviously, Appa was all excited and had his day with the camera and there were some quite a few nice pictures in it.

Also, I heard a rumor that Appa is going to mimic what Ganesh Perippa had done for Sid Anna. So, tune in for more...

So, I have come out y'day (06 Jan 07, I guess), somewhere around 10:34 hrs EST. I weighed 2.87 kgs and was about 20 inches long. I am just getting accustomed to the new environment and obviously, I keep sleeping most of the times. Appa & Amma are terribly happy that I am a healthy baby.

To my surprise, Appa & Amma have found a name for me - Maya. Appa has finally won the battle with Amma, who wanted me to name Divya.

Dad was so all over me and with all his enthu, here are a few snaps.

Why do I care to talk about the movie (let alone the fact that, if I can talk at all right now)? I think I've been in here for quite sometime now. As of today, its 38 weeks and 5 days. Appa is too enthu-ed and keeping his fingers crossed if I will get him the tax rebates. Appa, I really wish I knew.

Anyways, I am kind of excited to see everybody around and Amma is finding it too difficult to sleep these days and Appa is screaming at her for eating potatoes. I am not sure if he has gone nuts shouting at Amma for eating potatoes. I dont know if thats too harmful either (actually, I have developed a liking at potatoes too ;-)) Like Amma, Like Ponnu you see.

Arghh, I dont even get some more space to write, its too cramped in here. Allright fellas, I will talk to you in a while, maybe, see you all in a while. Zzzzz......

I am 9 months old...

Yes, I am pretty grown now and I am completing 9 months, today. Well, thats what I guess, but I still have a lot of room to turn around and kick amma's belly. Appa says , once the movements lessen a bit, thats when I am outgrowing the space (as if he had few babies in his thoppai or as if he remembers how he was in Vimala Paati's thoppai). So, he is obviously disappointed that I didnt get out on his birthday, but what to do. I am not sure how long I have to be in the womb, but its kinda nice you know...

I hear a few more voices in the last couple of days, I think its Thatha & Paati, as Amma is calling them "mma" and "ppa". I kind of lost track on the dates, you see, there is no calendar or watch in here. I knew that their VISA was thru, but didnt know when they're coming here. I am sure they are in a big jet lag, after the tiring 18 hour journey.

Hello there...

Its been quite sometime since I spoke to you all. Its busy-busy-busy all the time for Appa, as he had to finish off work @ Office, come back home and then take care of Amma & myself. I would just yearn for the Soymilk which Appa would give Amma every evening. I know that Amma will fuss a bit drinking it, but I just love the taste of it. I can see that Amma has started cooking too as she is feeling much better (infact, am not troubling her too much these days!). So, Appa is slightly off his cooking schedule. Anyways, lets talk about something else...

Probably about a month ago, Amma had her Ultrasound and Appa was with her too. Both of them had a chance to see me and Appa was so excited to look at the screen. They had lotsa fun watching me as the Ultrasonographer was cruising thru' various sides. As usual, I was evesdropping to what they were talking - they knew what baby I am going to be, but they've decided not to tell anybody probably until end of november. Appa was too adamant that he should not know until I am born, but it was Amma's aarva-kolaru. Even, I would agree to Appa that its the biggest surprise they can have and I can give it to them. They were more happy to know that I am growing good and that I am keeping good health.

Well, now that I've grown a bit and I would be about 29 cms over a period of 25~ weeks now and I sleep most of the time (obviously, what else would I be doing). But when I'm awake, I just keep kickin' Amma and she would get all excited that I could hear her pretty well. I don't know why she's not realising the fact that, I am outgrowing that little space everyday and she leans forward to get something and I really get no space, so I would just kick her and remind her that she should not forget that I'm in there. Pretty funny you know, Amma would call Appa and ask him to keep his hand to feel my kicks, but I would just tease him by not kicking when he's keeping his hand. But I didnt want to totally disappoint him, so I just kicked his hand too once.

Infact yesterday, I had slept for a long time and I realised that I should not scare Amma by not kicking at all. So, I just kicked like anything that she could see me moving from the outside. Infact, I could hear Appa scream that he was able to see me too. Even after Amma went to bed around 10 pm, I didnt feel sleepy. So I started kicking around badly that I scared her again and I guess Amma started thinking if there was enough room for me in there.

We met the Dr today and she said that I am fine too, and she wanted to check how Amma's doing as she has to keep a watch on Amma's weight. Appa was as usual curious if we can travel together, as he wants to see that place's Fall colors. I kinda forgot where it was, some New Hamp fire or something, I could barely hear that. Dr Jane said that we are perfectly fit to travel, so I think we'll be going out once again, after Las Vegas

Met a real Doctor atlast!

Amma & Appa went to a real Doctor today and got confirmed that I am really really in there and safe. The Doctor did do an ultra sound and they had pictures of me in Amma's belly. But you know what, they told that its a very early pregnancy and the due date is around Jan 5th and not on Appa's B'day. Obviously, Appa was too upset that its not going to be the same day.

Appa seemed convinced with this Doctor and I will be taken to the same Doctor going forward. There is going to be a monthly check up for the next 5-6 months, and after that its twice a month, the last month will be once a week.

I am really unhappy at Appa, he is not allowing me to post the very first photo of my ultra sound. Anyways, I will try to convince him and post one next time. Ok, time to sleep now. I will catch ya later. Zzzzzzzzz...

Got confirmed from Dr

Amma & Appa had been to the Dr today and they found that I am safe inside. But looks like Amma & Appa aren't really happy with this Dr. I eavesdropped, but I could'nt hear too much, though. Looks like this Dr is like a Compounder and Appa is totally unhappy. The next appointment with another Dr is on May 8th and all of us are hoping her to be good, atleast. I know how much Amma & Appa want to come and see me in my first Ultra Sound, but lets see when's that's going to be.

Also, this Dr told that I will step out on Appa's birthday and after that, there will be 2 prodigies born the same day ;-). Ok, time to sleep now. Will update you after a week.
